Gateway Open Studio Tour

9th Annual Gateway CDC Open Studio Tour: Saturday, May 11th, 12-5pm 

Gateway Community Development Corporation (CDC) welcomes you to the 9th Annual Gateway Open Studio Tour in Prince George’s County’s Gateway Arts District, home to one of the D.C. metro area’s most innovative and exciting arts scenes.  The Gateway Arts District brings together professional and upcoming artists representing almost every visual arts medium.This year Gateway CDC Open Studio Tour has grown to feature over 140 Artists!  Visitors are invited to interact one on one with the artists, see their work, explore their studios, and drop into all the businesses that the Gateway Arts District has to offer. And don’t forget to reserve you seat on the OST Complimentary Shuttle Bus.Then join us for:

Joe’s Movement Emporium Open House: Part of the Gateway Arts District Open Studio Tour

On May 11, 2013, Joe’s Movement Emporium will hold an Open House in conjunction with the 9th Annual Open Studio Tour.

The Open House will be held from 12:00 – 5:00 PM, and will include an opening reception for Peruvian visual artist Clara Majors from 3 :00 – 5:00 PM.  

There will be many exciting performances, including open rehearsals by Taratibu Youth Association, the DC Aerial Collective, and the EZ Hand Dance group.  There will also be Hoola Hoop demonstrations, dance classes and an arts education project to showcase the great activities for children and adults that are offered by Joe’s Movement Emporium.

The demonstrations will take place from 12:00 – 2:30 PM; Artists Opening Reception and Talk with Clara Majors will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 PM.

Please join us as we unveil the newest works by Peruvian artist Clara Majors titled  “Colors in Movement”.  Enjoy authentic Peruvian cuisine, and have an opportunity to learn about Clara Majors’ art and culture.

This will be a great opportunity to learn about the artistic offerings at Joe’s Movement Emporium, the upcoming Summer Arts Camp, and enjoy the new works of Peruvian artist Clara Majors.

We look forward to you joining us on May 11, 2013 from 12:00- 5:00 PM.  We are located at 3309 Bunker Hill Road, Mount Rainier, MD 20712, and we are also listed on the Open Studio tour official map.
